Sakura Haruno

Sakura Haruno (Josh Ziregbe)

This true green eyed beauty from Konohagakure with the large forehead, that she so desperately tried to hide, was not at all what she seemed. Having no great blood-line heritage, no one ever expected anything spectacular from her.

They were right, but then they were wrong.

She played the role of completing the love triangle between Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha; being chased by Naruto, the protagonist, and chasing after Sasuke, his best friend. Some may have thought that Sakura Haruno was not at all that important to the Naruto series but I always knew she was, a lot more than anyone could imagine.

In the hope of winning Sasuke's heart Sakura-chan grew out her cherry-blossom-pink hair but as important as this vain feature was to her, she was willing to cut it short at a moments notice when it came between her and protecting the love of her life.

She later began to show signs of remarkable chakra control under Tsunade Senju's tutelage and I was convinced that I was right to have banked on her. Years passed and I watched Naruto become stronger and saw Sasuke-kun cross into levels of power almost never seen before, yet the only progress from Sakura was the ablility to heal a fish, a fish!!

I was disappointed to say the least and it was then that she began to annoy me. Why would she have thought that she could take down Sasuke Uchiha on her own, that particular episode had me screaming at her for hours and when Naruto came to save her, I felt betrayed, a lot of my trust in her was broken, gone.

However, Big Forehead wasn't going to give up so easily, her training behind the scenes with Godaime Hokage, Tsunade-sama, was not going to be wasted. At the very last moment, she like the beautiful flower she is named after blossomedFrom a high ranking medical-nin, normally seen to be the weakest in combat, she stepped out into the front-lines of the battlefield disobeying the first law of medical ninjutsu. At that moment I had honestly secretly thought to myself, "Great, here she goes again, Naruto will have to save her" but this cherry-blossomed beauty proved me wrong. Sakura did not just upgrade, her increase in power was well over five-fold.

You see for years Sakura had known that she was weaker than her teammates - she was unfortunate to have been paired with exceptional monsters - and so, for years she had been storing up chakra, accumulating it, day by day, non-stop, year in year out, and finally it was enough to be released as the Byakugou no Jutsu (Creation Rebirth jutsu).

That was it! She rose to a rank rivaling the monsters, rivaling a sage of six paths and in the end, she was the one to deliver the hit that allowed the boys seal Kaguya Ōtsutsuki, the final villain.

I believe Sakura was an unrivaled female character in the series, with an astonishing personality; she was truly a Cherry Blossom Hidden in the Leaves.
