"Have you ever seen a wild beast that doesn't bite?"
- Roronoa Zoro

We have come to an era where it could be tagged misogynistic for a male to refuse to fight against a female; yet society would still frown at men fighting with women. This puts an honorary swordsman such as Zoro in a tight spot.

We are still in that long running era where it could be tagged un-ladylike for a female to move aggressively for the top seat; yet society today says it is empowering women. This puts a lot of growth-oriented women in a tight spot.

Now, those are just, in my opinion, shallower ways of looking at things. The true way to see these events is this, many-a-time there are certain choices one has to make in life and with these choices come a price, usually, a piece of your soul or your pride for your survival or progress.

This I believe is why it is difficult to stay on what society at large defines as a 'righteous path'. Almost every step seems to force you to change, rarely for the 'better' and most often for the 'worse', again as defined by the world around you. As human beings, however, we must constantly upgrade our way of thinking and the way we approach problems simply has to evolve.

In this crowded world of difficult choices, there is a higher echelon: those who have the heart and fortitude to cheat their current realities and choose to move forward without losing themselves on the way. These, I have come to understand are those who have found their own way, those who have put the biases of society aside to find out what makes sense.

One of the reasons I love One Piece, actually the number one reason I love the show despite the ridiculously short episodes, weirdly drawn characters and the fact that every villain has a special way of laughing, is that the story line in itself is amazing, filled with moments of difficult choices.
